Need to be higher?
The ProView is a film tower rather than a press box — a 10' deck, high enough to shoot over the play instead of through it. Same frame and the same options; it is not in the builder above yet, so we quote it directly.
Questions we get asked.
What's the difference between the 4' and the 6'?+
Deck height, and what it buys you. The SpotView (4') puts you above the bench and the touchline — enough for the clock, spotting and announcing. The FieldView (6') clears a standing crowd along the near touchline, which is the one thing a 4' deck cannot do on a busy sideline. Same frame, same options, same build.
Do I need the enclosure?+
It depends on your season, not your budget. Open is a platform — fine for a dry afternoon and a scorer. Canvas takes the wind off three sides. The plexiglass options are a room you can work in through a season: the 3-sided has a door at the entry, and the 4-sided adds the lift-up front hatch so you can shut the front and still see out.
Can it be moved between fields?+
Yes. Every unit rolls on four casters, two of which lock. Add the tow kit — a carbon steel drawbar with a 2" receiver — and it goes behind a utility vehicle between venues rather than being pushed.
How high does a film tower need to be for football filming?+
For game film and practice footage, most programs want 8-10 feet of viewing height. That is what the ProView (10') is for: high enough to shoot over the play instead of through it. The 4' and 6' press boxes are for working from, not filming over.
Are portable film towers better than renting scissor lifts?+
For most programs, owning is significantly cheaper. Scissor lift rentals run $200-400 a day. A tower pays for itself after 50-75 uses — often within two or three seasons — and it is available on the days you did not book it.
